Recap of 01-04-10

Happy New Year Everyone! The First Annual Barefoot Church New Year's Bash was a smashing success. Youth from a Baptist Church in Tabor City came and entertained us with a mime show and beautiful music. Sacred Blend did an hour long set with a Holy Spirit filled altar call at the end leading up to midnight. Over 30 people stayed overnight to have a safe place to ring in the New Year.

Monday night, we had well over 100 people who came to start the year off right. We had a record number of people come up to pick up chips to start fresh and allow the Holy Spirit to heal their hurt, hang up or habit. Barry did an excellent job on the lesson on Denial. He mentioned that this first step is the only one that has to be worked perfectly. If we don't fully surrender our pain to the Holy Spirit, he can't take that weakness and turn it into His strength.

"My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Don't forget the training this Saturday from 9:00 -12:00 at the church office. Liz and Tim have planned an interactive lesson on sponsorship complete with prizes! See you all then.
